In Studio Terms And Conditions

By booking or participating in any activity at The Edgemont Village Art Studio (“The Edgemont Village Art Studio,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all in-studio bookings, including workshops, classes, camps, and private events.

Have a gift card or code that's not working? Please email hello@theedgemontvillageartstudio.com before completing your purchase. We do not provide refunds after booking—No Exceptions.

• Projects are only available on the dates and times shown. Each session is prepared for specific projects, and our instructors are set up to guide those projects during that time.

• We are not an open art studio and do not offer studio time for personal projects. Our workshops are designed to be affordable, just for fun, and beginner-friendly, with projects planned around specific materials, timing, and skill levels to help everyone have the best possible experience and results.
  

• Please treat all staff and other participants with respect and courtesy at all times. Threatening or abusive conduct may result in permanent removal from future activities. Police may be contacted if necessary. Policies are in place to ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for everyone.

Progress over perfection!

• I get it—this is a handmade project, which means my creation might be a little wonky, quirky, or "uniquely beautiful" (aka not Pinterest-perfect). And that’s totally okay!

• I understand that my masterpiece might not look exactly like the example, and that’s kind of the point—it’s handmade by me, after all!

• I promise to focus on having fun, getting my hands a little messy, and embracing the "perfectly imperfect" creative process. Stressing over perfection is not on the agenda.

We do not offer refunds.

You can reschedule your workshop booking up to 48 hours prior to the workshop. You can reschedule camps, courses, and parties up to 2-weeks prior to the start date. You can edit your booking free of charge using the link in your booking confirmation email. If you cancel your booking you may receive a 30-day credit (minus a cancellation fee).

Please note credit will not appear automatically on your account as it needs to be manually processed. In order to receive a credit for a cancellation you will need to email the studio within 48 hours of cancelling. If eligible to receive a credit, the studio will confirm once the credit has been applied to your account.

Credit will expire after 30 days and can be used towards any offering on the website.

There is a cancellation fee, or an administration fee for the studio to assist you with managing your booking. For workshops the fee is $5, for camps, courses, and private events/parties the fee is $25.

We cannot provide a credit or reschedule your booking with less than the required notice, for any reason. Credits cannot be issued after the class has begun. 

If a class/event must be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., staff illness, extreme weather, or other public health emergency), participants will receive a reschedule option or credit. Refunds are not provided in these cases.

Customers are responsible for ensuring gift codes or credits are applied correctly before checkout. Refunds cannot be issued for missed codes or errors after checkout.

 

Your workshop host can advise you on when to expect your artwork to be ready to take home. Usually it is within 14-days. We can store finished artwork for 30-days.

The Edgemont Village Art Studio is not responsible for any damage or loss to unclaimed artwork.

Kiln firing carries inherent risks. Clay breakage, crazing, cracks or kiln explosions, can occur. Refunds or credits cannot be provided in such cases.

🔥 HOT TIP: We highly recommend watching The Great Pottery Throw Down — it's a fantastic show and will give you realistic expectations about what clay can do. You'll see that even experts hope their pieces don't crack in the kiln, that the glaze works as planned, and that things turn out the way they imagined. You'll also see that making art is about fun, supporting one another, and trying. That's what we're all about too.

Wardrobe Warning:

I understand that The Edgemont Village Art Studio uses professional art materials that may permanently stain clothing, shoes, and jackets. The studio does not provide aprons or smocks, and is not responsible for any wardrobe casualties—so please leave your ball gowns, tuxedos, and designer outfits at home! I also agree to inform everyone in my party about this very important (and stylish) warning.

Members: 

Members: The member needs to be registered and present for member workshop bookings to take advantage of the member pricing.  By clicking below you are confirming the member holder is registered with the group. For kids programs, the member’s child must be present. 

Health, Safety & Liability

Parents/guardians grant permission for The Edgemont Village Art Studio staff to seek medical attention in case of emergency when a guardian cannot be reached.

Participants must disclose any allergies, medical conditions, or special requirements prior to participation.

The Edgemont Village Art Studio is not responsible for damage to clothing, footwear, or personal belongings.

By participating, you release The Edgemont Village Art Studio, its owners, operators, employees, and licensee from all liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation or presence on the premises.

In the event of a public health emergency, natural disaster, or other event beyond The Edgemont Village Art Studio’s control, classes and events may be rescheduled or credited; refunds will not be issued.

PHOTOGRAPHIC MATERIALS:

The Edgemont Village Art Studio reserves the right to use photographic material for advertising and promotional purposes. If you do not want your child, yourself or a member of your party photographed, please let us know upon arrival.

WORKSHOPS:

Workshop Instruction: 

At the start of the workshop, your instructor will give a brief 10 - 15 minute demonstration covering most of the project steps. An instructor will be available to answer questions, offer help, and cheer you on as you work through the steps. If needed, they will also demonstrate any remaining steps or details. This approach allows everyone to work at their own pace and enjoy socializing during the workshop. 

Your seat is reserved for 1.5 hours for you to complete your project. After that, if more time is needed, you may be able to extend your booking, or if the seats are needed for other reservations, you may return and complete your artwork another time. Your teacher will discuss options with you at the time of your workshop. 

All projects are completed in the studio, students cannot take materials home to complete.

Please be on time: 

To ensure a smooth experience, instruction will begin promptly at the scheduled start time. Please note that if you arrive more than 5 minutes late, you may not be able to complete the project. The teacher will probably not have time to re-do the demonstration as they will be busy assisting the rest of the group. We kindly ask for your understanding that refunds or credits cannot be provided for late arrivals.

Workshops starting at 6:30pm or later are for adults (age 16+) only.

Important Notice for those bringing children to family workshops: 

It is not appropriate to drop off a child under 10 years old without an adult for a workshop. You may bring a child with you as a paid participant to a family workshop. As the accompanying adult, you are responsible for providing one-on-one support to each child during the activity. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, you may only bring a maximum of two children under the age of 10 per adult. Managing more than two children can make it difficult to give each child the attention they need, potentially impacting the overall experience. Parents are responsible for ensuring children understand and follow studio behaviour expectations, including not wasting art materials and respecting the studio environment and teachers. 

Every participant must be paid for (no observers / helpers)

*so 1 adult & 2 children = 3 seats. 

You may choose to make one project each, or work together with your child on one project. The price is the same either way as we book per seat. We do not offer discounts or credits for making 1 project instead of 2. 

*TEEN WORKSHOPS: Students ages 10 - 15, unless the workshop is at 6:30pm or later, may register as an adult participant. Please discuss respectful behaviour and listening before the class; in cases of disrespectful or unsafe behaviour, our policy is to call for immediate pick-up (no refunds or credits provided). 

 

KIDS DROP-OFF CLASSES & CAMPS:

Drop-off only. No observers or ‘helpers’ permitted. 

Students must be able to walk into the classroom by themselves. 

All participants must meet the posted age requirements. Please check the course-specific ages BEFORE booking. No refunds for registering in the wrong age group.

Camp: Any children attending are aged 6-12 on the first day of camp. You may register a 5 year old for full day camp if you think they will enjoy the full day class - please note no refunds or credits if an early pick up is needed for any reason.

All projects are completed in the studio, students cannot take materials home to complete.

There is no credit or refund for absences. No credit or refund after the camp/course has begun. We require 2-weeks notice in order to provide the 30-day credit for cancellations or to reschedule a booking. No credits for last minute cancellations (less than 2-weeks notice) no exceptions (including sickness).

For courses, we do not offer make-up classes. No credits or refunds for missed classes. No exceptions. If your child has unfinished artwork due to missing a class, the teacher may arrange for them to come 10 mins early to class the following week and help them catch-up. 

BEHAVIOUR & TOUCHING:

Please talk to your kids before they come about behaviour, listening, and touching. Absolutely no touching will be permitted of other students or the teacher. 

The studio is a real, functioning art studio, with sharp art tools, and a hot kiln. There are fragile artworks on the shelves. 

Students will be instructed before each lesson of this and to keep their hands to themselves.

In the event of disruptive or aggressive behaviour, bullying, or not listening to the instructors, our policy is to call home for immediate pickup. This includes between siblings. 

If your child damages studio property, including scratching tables, breaking tools, breaking other people’s artwork, graffiti, or any other damage, you may be charged for replacements and/or repairs.

No credits or refunds for being sent home for misbehaviour.

We are nut-free - please no nuts when packing snacks.

Kids Parties:

A non-refundable deposit (base fee) is required to confirm a party booking. The base fee is non-refundable and non-creditable under any circumstances.

The minimum charge covers 8 participants. Additional guests may be added in advance or on the day of the party, subject to space and staffing. 

If you are planning for 20 or more guests, you will need to reserve the entire studio space - please contact the studio BEFORE booking to check availability. 

A standard party booking reserves 2 tables within the studio, and 1 teacher. There may be other bookings taking place at other tables, which may include other birthday parties or workshops. Please be mindful of other guests at the studio. If your group is large or may be loud, you may be asked to adjust volume to maintain a comfortable environment for others or consider booking a private event.

Two adult observers are included; additional adults are considered guests and count toward the total number of guests.

The studio must be notified of any changes to guest numbers at least 3 days prior to the event.

No-show policy: We don’t issue refunds for no-show guests. We recommend booking the base price and adding your additional guests later. 

If booking ‘party time’, the parents/guardians hosting the party will be responsible for supervision, behaviour, and safety during this portion of your event. 

You may arrive no more than 15 mins before the start of your reserved time. You must vacate the space no more than 15 mins after your reserved time. 

We are nut-free - please no nuts if you are bringing food to your event.
